Food. We love food. In fact, we can’t. Stop. Talking. About. Food. Why? Because food is delicious and we live in one of the best culinary cities in the world.

Another case in the “we rock food harder than any other city” point: Brooklyn’s Smorgasburg. Smorgasburg is a seasonal “Flea Food Market” in Williamsburg that opens once again as of this Saturday, April 7. There will be over 50 vendors at hand to satisfy any craving, including SlantShack Jerky, S’more Bakery, McClure’s Pickles, La Buena Gazpacho, Danny Macaroons, and Brooklyn Oyster Party.

While we are a little cruel to break this delicious news at dinner time, will you forgive us once you find out that this year, Smorgasburg might also be able to serve beer?

According to Gothamist, Brooklyn Community Board 1 SLA committee will be voting tonight on whether to give the Brooklyn Flea offshoot a boozy license. “We’ve gathered about 10 pages of signatures in support of the application since our February appearance,” Smorgasburg’s Eric Demby told Gothamist, and he’s “confident we’ll win approval both tonight and at the full board in a couple weeks.” Huzzah!

Smorgasburg will be open every Saturday (rain or shine) from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., on the Williamsburg waterfront between North 6th and North 7th Streets. For more information, visit BrooklynFlea.com.
