In a speech in Hanover, Germany, President Obama announced on Monday that he will send 250 more U.S. troops to Syria to maintain the fight against Islamic State extremists. In an appeal for solidarity, the President urged European allies to contribute to the fight against ISIS by contributing troops of their own. In a NATO coalition that consists of 66 nations, the U.S. is still the country conducting the majority of airstrikes and few nations have sent in ground troops. At one point in his speech, President Obama said, "I'll be honest: Sometimes Europe has been complacent about its own defense."
