North Dakota governor Jack Dalrymple has ordered the immediate evacuation of the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline protest location. Dalrymple signed the order Monday, citing ongoing and projected “severe weather storm conditions” that could “endanger human life.” The order states that anyone staying in the area “does so at their own risk, and assumes any and all corresponding liabilities for their unlawful presence and occupation of evacuation area.” While the order does not mention efforts to force the protesters out, it does state that encouraging people to enter or stay in the area “will be subject to penalties as defined by law.”
