According to a report by Reuters, Italy pressed ahead with its decision to send hundreds of migrants to Spain in a small naval convoy on Tuesday, after refusing them entry into the country, sparking a war of words with France the latest example of tension over the EU's migrant crisis. Both Italy and Malta shut down its ports and refused to let approximately 629 migrants, including 11 children and seven pregnant women, enter their countries. Spain then reportedly offered to take in the group of mainly sub-Saharan Africans, who were picked up off the Libyan coast over the weekend.
