According to Digital Trends, currently there is a battle to change how consumers get their groceries. This can be seen in Amazon’s structural changes at Whole Foods, in Walmart’s new push to deliver groceries, and in Amazon’s cashless convenience stores. Now, a new company based in Boston called Takeoff Technologies bringing 'artificial intelligence-driven, robot-enhanced order fulfillment" to grocery stores all over the United States. The company is hoping to install automated centers inside of grocery stores that will be able to put together orders of up to 60 items within minutes. These automated centers would operate at a fraction of the speed and cost of having employees hand-pick the shopping order.
