According to Reuters, a Federal Reserve Bank president thinks the central bank has a good capacity to wait before adjusting monetary policy. Charles Evans, president of the Fed bank in Chicago, said that he believes they will increase interest rates three times in 2019. But Evans also said that the bank is in a good position to wait, before further increasing interest rates. Evan's comments echo those of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and Eric Rosengren, who heads the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Fed chair Powell recently said that policymakers can be patient with interest rates because inflation is low and under control.
