U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta blamed the State’s Attorney’s office for a controversial plea deal. In 2008, Acosta negotiated a non-prosecution deal for Jeffrey Epstein who was being accused of sex trafficking. But Acosta said it was Palm Beach State Attorney’s office that let Epstein “walk free.” Former state’s attorney for Palm Beach County Barry Krischer said Acosta is wrong. He said: "Federal prosecutors do not take a back seat to state prosecutors. That's not how the system works in the real world."
