The variety of popular eating regimens these days can boggle the mind. Keto, gluten-free, Whole 30, CICO, vegetarian, intermittent fasting, low fat... It's confusing! One of the most extreme forms of eating practices is veganism. According to Business Insider, a vegan diet consists of only plant-based products with no exceptions made for animal byproducts. Unlike vegetarians, vegans eat no milk, eggs, or similar products. Therefore, a healthy vegan diet requires careful consideration of the foods you are consuming in order to avoid nutritional deficiencies. But if done right, a vegan diet can have many health benefits including a lower risk of diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.
